Method and solvent composition for stimulating the production of oil from a producing well

A method and a solvent composition are described for removing viscous crude oil, waxes, asphaltenes, and resin precipitates of petroleum origin from oil wells, flow lines, and pores of oil-bearing formation. The solvent is a mixture of a normally liquid aliphatic hydrocarbon boiling in the range of 120/sup 0/F to 550/sup 0/F, a normally liquid aromatic hydrocarbon, an ether of an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol, and a lower alkyl monohydric alcohol.
