The authors report the electrochemical synthesis and conductivity of the transition metal chelate-fulleride compound [Ru(bpy)[sub 3]](C[sub 60])[sub 2] (where bpy = 2,2[prime]-bipyridine). This compound was prepared via the electrogeneration of C[sup -][sub 60] in dichloromethane media saturated with Ru(bpy)[sub 3](PF[sub 6])[sub 2]. Two point conductivity measurements demonstrate that this black crystalline material exhibits Arrhenius behavior typical of semiconductors at temperature between 80 and 308 K. The specific conductivity at 298.15 K is 0.01 [Omega][sup [minus]1]cm[sup [minus]1], and the activation energy is 0.15 eV.
