Fractional factorial formations are used in conjunction with a fur heat transfer model in screening variables in which only a subset of the variables is expected to be important on heat transfer through irradiated fur, but which subset is unknown. Nine of the eleven variables tested have statistically significant effects on heat transfer through irradiated fur. The sensitivity of the variables is illustrated. 15 references, 4 figures, 3 tables.
