Second and third virial coefficients of argon, methane, and ethane have been measured suing the recently developed isochorically coupled Burnett method. The reduced temperature range was 0.66 to 1.00. The results were compared with theory using the Kihara potential and potential parameters were determined. The Kihara potential was used directly to yield a CSP correlation for the second virial coefficient. An empirical correlation was developed for the third virial coefficient which covers the reduced temperature range 0.66 to 3.15. (30 refs.)
