This study compared three devices that concentrate suspended sediment from native water (two flow-through centrifuges, Westfalia and Alfa Laval, and one tangential-flow filtration device, Pellicon) to evaluate device-contributed contamination, cross-sample contamination, sediment recovery, and recovery of the fine organic fraction. Also, preliminary testing of a portable suspended sediment sampling unit for sampling from bridges was conducted.
