Biomass energy for Hawaii. Volume I. Summary and background. Final report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6534811
The principle objective of this research report was to determine the energy potential of Hawaii's biomass resources and to demonstrate how they could be effectively tapped in the 1980s to provide the state with a viable alternative to current fuel sources. This objective grew from an awareness of Hawaii's heavy dependence on imported petroleum and and of the promise held by the state's many indigenous natural energy resources. The results of the research show that biomass could indeed be an important source of energy and valuable by-products in Hawaii.
