Title: Model for the gravitational lens system 2237+0305

A mass model for the lensing spiral galaxy in the 2237+0305 system is proposed that successfully accounts for the properties of the four previously detected QSO (z of about 1.7) images. The observed image positions are well reproduced using both a de Vaucouleurs law and a King profile, while the fluxes are not as well fit. It is noted that the galaxy scale length and velocity dispersion for both models are consistent with the observed properties of other nearby spiral galaxies of similar morphological type. The a priori probability of discovering a lensed QSO in the spectrum of a nearby galaxy is found to be less than 1 percent. 17 references.
