Integrated optics. Proceedings of the meeting, Los Angeles, CA, February 10, 11, 1981
Papers presented in this volume provide an overview of the state of the art in the major areas of research comprising integrated optics. In particular, topics discussed include lasers for integrated optics, component and fabrication techniques, optical logical circuits and high-speed semiconductor lasers, and signal processing and sensors. Papers are presented on the long-wave lasers for optical communications, submicron grating fabrication on GaAs, mode-locking of (GaAl)As injection lasers, and advances in optical fiber sensors. Other papers include modulation characteristics of semiconductor laser devices, low-loss optical waveguide formation by field-assisted solid-state diffusion of metals in glass, and signal processing with a nonlinear Fabry-Perot.
