This book covers the history of the earth's climate for the past 600 million years. The authors have divided climate history into warm and cool modes in which they discuss some controversial theories. Also included is a chapter on the Quaternary period. The authors discuss the carbon cycle in great detail, including its effect on climate change in the near future and in the geological past. The factors which may have influenced the carbon cycle are examined.
