A process is described for recovering a finished oil product from crude or waste oil contaminated with water and the like, comprising: containing a supply of the waste oil to be recovered in a tank; providing an incineration chamber in the tank, the incineration chamber being at least partly submerged in the waste oil in the tank; heating the waste oil in the tank with a heating flame generated inside the incinerator chamber to produce waste gases including light ends and a desired finished oil product from the waste oil and the tank; exhausting the waste gases from the tank; and providing an afterburner means inside of the tank and at least partly within the chamber.
