The components of the tensor for Rayleigh and Raman scattering, including several of the first overtones, have been computed for a number of the lowest vibrational levels of the H/sub 2//sup +/ ion at different frequencies of the incident radiation. Corrections for anharmonicity have been taken into account in first-order perturbation theory.
