The car-parking limit of random sequential adsorption: Expansions in one dimension

We consider the irreversible random sequential adsorption of particles taking [ital k] sites at a time, on a one-dimensional lattice. We present an exact expansion for the coverage, [theta]([ital t],[ital k])=[ital A][sub 0]([ital t])+[ital A][sub 1]([ital t])[ital k][sup [minus]1]+[ital A][sub 2]([ital t])[ital k][sup [minus]2]+..., for times, 0[le][ital t][le][ital O]([ital k]), and at saturation [ital t]=[infinity]. The former is new and the latter extends Mackenzie's results [J. Chem. Phys. [bold 37], 723 (1962)]. For these expansions, we note that the coefficients [ital A][sub [ital i][ge]1]([infinity]) are not obtained as large-[ital t] limits of the [ital A][sub [ital i][ge]1]([ital t]). Finally, we comment on the Laurent expansions for general [ital O]([ital k])[lt][ital t][lt][infinity], which reveal the occurrence of additional [ital k][sup [ital n]] terms, with [ital n][gt]0.
