Remote weighing of irradiated fuel pins at FFTF (Fast Flux Test Facility)

Conference ·
OSTI ID:6521096
The Fuel Pin Weighing System used at the Fast Flux Test Facility, Richland, Washington, was previously described as it was intended for use in the Fuels and Materials Examination Facility. The system has since been modified, tested, and installed in the Interim Examination and Maintenance Cell to help identify breached fuel pins. These modifications include hardware design changes and the addition of a computer for system control and for collecting and processing the pin weight data. This pin weighing system has proven to be accurate and reliable for the IEM cell application.
