Heat exchange apparatus for improving the efficiency of a fireplace is disclosed in the form of a plurality of heat transfer conduits connected at one end to a manifold and containing a plurality of heat exchange elements. A fan directs air through the manifold and then through the conduits for contact with the heat exchange elements to thereby heat the air which is then discharged into a room.
