Title: Synthesis, structure, and dynamics of (organosilyl)anilides

A series of (organosilyl)formanilides of the type HCONPhSiR{sup 1}R{sup 2}R{sup 3}, where R{sup 1}R{sup 2}R{sup 3} = Me{sub 2}H, MePhH, Me{sub 3}, Et{sub 3}, (n-Pr){sub 3}, (i-Pr){sub 3}, (n-Bu){sub 3}, (OEt){sub 3}, (OSiMe{sub 3}){sub 3}, Me{sub 2}OMe, Me{sub 2}Et, Me{sub 2}CH{double bond}CH{sub 2}, Me{sub 2}-i-Pr, Me{sub 2}C{sub 3}H{sub 6}Cl, Me{sub 2}C{sub 2}H{sub 4}OAc, Me(n-Bu){sub 2}, Me{sub 2}Ph, and Ph{sub 2}-t-Bu, and a series of (organosilyl)acetanilides of the form CH{sub 3}CON(p-R{sup 4}C{sub 6}H{sub 4})SiMe{sub 2}H, where R{sup 4} = OMe, H, and Cl, were prepared by amination and transsilylation. For C{sub 17}H{sub 19}ClN{sub 2}O{sub 2}Si: monoclinic, P2{sub 1}/c, a = 10.420 (3) {angstrom}, b = 17.322 (5) {angstrom}, c = 10.561 (2) {angstrom}, {beta} = 112.26 (2){degree}, V = 1,764.3 (10) {angstrom}{sup 3}, Z = 4, R(F) = 5.29% for 1,796 reflections, F{sub 0} {>=} 3{sigma}(F{sub 0}).
