Two new compounds are described that contain the recently discovered Nb{sub 2}(PhCC(Ph)C(Ph)CPh) moiety. Compound 1, (Nb{sub 4}O{sub 2}Cl{sub 4}((PhC){sub 4}){sub 2}(THF){sub 4}) {times} 2THF, contains centrosymmetric tetranuclear molecules in which the equivalent halves, Nb{sub 2}((PhC){sub 4})Cl{sub 2}(THF){sub 2}O, are joined solely by having the {mu}-O atom of each half form a strong donor bond to one of the Nb atoms of the other half. This compound crystallizes in space group P2{sub 1}/c with Z = 2 and has been refined to R = 0.049 and R{sub w} = 0.066. The unit cell dimensions are a = 13.409 (2) {angstrom}, b = 27.421 (5) {angstrom}, c = 10.805 (3) {angstrom}, and {beta} = 106.76 (2){degree}. Compound 2, (Mg{sub 2}Cl{sub 3}-(THF){sub 6})(Nb{sub 4}O{sub 2}Cl{sub 7}((PhC){sub 4}){sub 2}(Mg(THF){sub 3})) {times} THF, crystallizes in space group P{anti 1} with Z = 2 and no rigorous molecular symmetry. The unit cell dimensions are a = 12.614 (2) {angstrom}, b = 16.706 (3) {angstrom}, c = 27.153 (5) {angstrom}, {alpha} = 107.45 (1){degree}, {beta} = 99.11 (1){degree}, and {gamma} = 90.61 (2){degree}.
