This patent describes a method of removing heat from heated structure of an internal combustion engine comprising the steps of: introducing liquid coolant into a coolant jacket disposed about the heated structure of the engine; permitting the liquid coolant to boil and produce coolant vapor; condensing the coolant vapor generated by the boiling of the liquid coolant in a radiator in fluid communication with the coolant jacket; and continuously operating a coolant return pump fluidly interposed between the radiator and the coolant jacket, the pump being arranged to pump coolant into the coolant jacket.
