Electromagnetic corrections to the elastic radiative tail in deep inelastic lepton-nucleon scattering

Numerical and analytical computational methods are used to carry out an exact calculation of the electromagnetic corrections to the elastic radiative tail in deep inelastic lepton-nucleon scattering. It is shown that in the infrared region the correction is approximated well by an exponential. In the hard-photon region the sign and magnitude of the correction differ from the exponential result, but the correction is quite small, amounting to no more than a few percent.
