Dry pulverized lignite combustion in multifuel burners

Conference · · Am. Soc. Mech. Eng., (Pap.); (United States)
OSTI ID:6497893
A great number of consumers in industry in Yugoslavia use large amounts of oil. For the purpose of substituting oil with domestic coals, a test facility was built. It enables investigation of influence of various parameters on the process of direct ignition and combustion of pulverized coals, such as origin and quality of coal, moisture content, fineness of grinding and so on. It has nominally 450 KW and the consumption of pulverized coal is 20-130 kg/h. Investigations are carried out with specially designed multifuel swirl-type burners. This should enable development of burners for combustion of low quality Yugoslav lignites.
