Parity and signature determination by the V/sub 1/V/sub 2/ decay mode

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. D; (United States)
The phiphi parity test is generalized to any specific X..-->..V/sub 1/V/sub 2/ decay mode where the vector mesons V/sub 1/ and V/sub 2/ each either decays into two spin-zero bosons, or is ..omega... From a V/sub 1/V/sub 2/ mode with a V/sub 1/bold-arrow-left-rightV/sub 2/ exchange property, the parity eta of X can always be determined as can (-)/sup J/ of X except in certain circumstances. For modes without such an exchange property, eta(-)/sup J/ can be determined provided certain amplitudes do not accidentally vanish. Empirical tests for unexpected violations of V/sub 1/bold-arrow-left-rightV/sub 2/ exchange properties are enumerated.
