An emergency control algorithm for real-time applications

An emergency control algorithm for possible incorporation as one of the major functions of an Energy Control Center is developed. The algorithm considers the effect of governor and AGC loop settings and determines the post contingency state and checks for any overloading condition. In the event of such overloading a Linear Programming procedure evaluates an alternate safe target state.
