Formation of clusters of galaxies containing dark matter

Two-component N-body simulations were performed to investigate the formation of rich clusters of galaxies containing both luminous and dark matter. Results suggest that a likely consequence of dark matter is the underestimation of virial masses of galaxy clusters. It is also suggested that the observed value of Omega of about 0.1-0.2 obtained from galaxy clusters and galaxy counts may imply a true value of Omega = 1, consistent with an Einstein-de Sitter universe and current theories of the early universe. 69 references.
