Combined sonic agglomerator/cross flow gas filtration system and method
Patent
·
OSTI ID:6493342
A gas filtration apparatus combines sonic agglomeration with porous cross-flow filtration to remove fine particles (less than 10 microns in diameter) from high-temperature, high-pressure coal-gas streams. The system avoids the high pressure drop normally associated with small-particle filtration. The gas stream can be seeded while in the sonic portion to enhance agglomeration or to induce chemical reaction of undesired gas components for their removal as solids.
