Method and apparatus for controlling the solenoid current of a solenoid valve which controls the amount of suction of air in an internal combustion engine
This patent describes an apparatus for controlling the solenoid current of a solenoid valve which controls suction air in an internal combustion engine. The apparatus consists of: (a) engine rotational speed detector means for detecting engine rotational speed; (b) aimed idle speed setting means for generating a signal corresponding to a predetermined idling speed; (c) first calculating means coupled to the engine rotational speed detector means and the aimed idle speed setting means for calculating a feedback control term (Ifb(n)) as a function of an integration term (Iai), a proportion term (Ip), and a differentiation term (Id); (d) first determining and storing means coupled to the first calculating means, for determining an integration term (Iai(n)) of the the feedback control term (Ifb(n)) and for determining a determined value (Ixref) in accordance therewith; (e) changeover means coupled to the first calculating means and the first determining and storing means for selecting the output of one of the first calculating means or the first determining and storing means; (f) first signal generating means coupled to the changeover means for generating a solenoid current control value (Icmd) as a function of the output of the changeover means.
