This article examines the vertical ejection of liquid into the atmosphere as a result of an underwater explosion. A linearized hydrodynamic model is used to determine the characteristic horizontal size of the plume. The pressure is determined in an ideal incompressible weightless liquid in the region bounded by the free surface and the boundary of the bubble. The development of the gas bubble is considered in order to investigate the motion of the free surface of the liquid. The method of similarity and dimensionality is used in order to investigate the motion of the plume in the vertical direction.
