Pressure effect on superconducting transition-temperature relaxation behavior of the Zr/sub 70/Cu/sub 30/ amorphous alloy on annealing at elevated pressures

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. B: Condens. Matter; (United States)

The superconducting transition-temperature (T/sub c/) relaxation behavior of Zr/sub 70/Cu/sub 30/ metglas upon annealing at pressures up to 2.5 GPa is investigated. Our results show that although compression generally retards the relaxation process, it also oppositely influences atomic activation processes in T/sub c/ relaxation at the lower and higher sides of an appropriate pressure. A homogenization in amorphous structure induced by this pressure is suggested to be responsible for the above behavior.
