PV receiver assembly for PRDA concentrator systems

The Technology Applications Center of the BDM Corporation (BDM/TAC) has completed the design of a photovoltaic concentrator applications experiment. This system, denoted as CAPVC (Commercial Application of a Photovoltaic Concentrator), is a nominal 50 kWp system designed for the roof of the new BDM/TAC headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The photovoltaic concentrating array is a single-axis linear parabolic trough with a single crystalline, silicon, photovoltaic (PV) cell. A total of 624 m/sup 2/ of aperture will be focused on 13,944 PV cells. These cells are mounted on a V-shaped receiver assembly which was custom designed for this PRDA concentrator application.
