Southern California Edison Company wind resource assessment program

Conference · · Proc. Annu. Meet. - Am. Sect. Int. Sol. Energy Soc.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6481424
Of all the solar energy options available, wind turbine generator (WTG) systems are likely to make the earliest, cost-effective contribution of electricity to the Southern California Edison (SCE) utility system. To determine where and what type of WTG systems to build, the wind resource is being investigated in the SCE service territory. Studies using computer modeling, field measurements and analyses of existing meteorological data have been performed. The goals of the program are to locate the best sites for the WTG systems and to provide detailed information that can be used for technical and economic analyses of various WTG systems.
