Vibrational spectroscopy of molecules on surfaces
- eds.
As the editors so aptly state in the preference of this book, the observation of the vibrational spectra of adsorbed species provides one of the most incisive methods for understanding chemical and physical phenomena on surfaces. Hence this first volume in the Methods of Surface Characterization series represents a timely and welcome introduction to the current theory and methodology behind the rapidly expanding area of surface analysis. The objective of this series is to provide the newcomer to the field with a pedagogical description of the principles, experimental methods, and data interpretation approaches behind the diverse range of surface analysis techniques. The editors have largely achieved this goal with this volume, which is a compendium of chapters written by various experts in their respective fields.
