An individual's willingness to pay for pollution abatement controls in the Merrimack River basin, Mass., is surveyed. The mean willingness to pay for pollution control was about $12 per person. An increased willingness to pay was related to home ownership, increases in income, and family size. The survey included 200 residents of the basin. (3 references, 3 tables)
