Over half of the matter of the universe is in the form of nuclear power plants, asserts Dr. William Pollard. These nuclear power plants are more commonly known as stars. ''It's a sobering thought that God has more of them than he has of anything else,'' reasons Dr. Pollard. He argues that man has successfully taken dominion over the providential fuels supplied to the earth and, now that he has discovered how to harness nuclear power, it is only natural to take dominion over this inexhaustible energy resource. A scientist and theologian, Dr. Pollard is a consultant to the Institute for Energy Analysis of Oak Ridge Associated Universities in Oak Ridge, TN. He was formerly executive director of Oak Ridge Associated Universities and is a fellow of the American Nuclear Society. He is also an Episcopal priest of 25 years service, a ministry he continues to pursue in retirement. Dr. Pollard calls nuclear energy the most natural of all fuels because it is the most common form of energy occurring in creation. He concludes that to reject such a tremendous gift is ''to submit to fear and to surrender the helps that come from reason.''
