Title: Catalyst deactivation during the hydrodemetallation of nickel porphyrin over CoMo/Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/

Conference ·
OSTI ID:6475286

The goal of this paper is to investigate and model the deactivation of a well characterized hydrotreating catalyst in a nickel hydrodemetallation environment. This was achieved by monitoring the deactivation of a CoMo/Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ catalyst up to nickel loadings of 30 wt%. Surface characterization techniques were used to identify the form and location of nickel deposits on the aged catalyst, and the correspondence between metal deposits and catalytic activity has been investigated.
