A comprehensive assessment of the carbon dioxide issue is presented in this report of the Carbon Dioxide Assessment Committee of the National Research Council. Included were: projections of CO/sub 2/ emissions and concentrations; assessment of possible climatic changes; implications of increasing CO/sub 2/ and climatic change for agriculture and water, sea level, and other selected areas, including possible impacts that might have a low probability but a high cost; and other current and future problems. Fifteen papers were indexed separately for inclusion in the Energy Data Base.
