This article is a book review. The book concerns the nuclear controversy. The various forces involved are described. The author analyzes the processes which operate beneath the surface to direct the course of the controversy. A discussion of the problems surrounding the construction of a nuclear power plant at Midland, Michigan is presented. Through this analysis, the reader witnesses the abstract forces detailed in the earlier chapters personified in the various individuals who oppose and support the project. The author describes the endless process of obtaining approval for the Midland Plant and of resolving the judicial challenges which followed that approval. In the end, the reader is left with the impression that the true merits and demerits of nuclear power have been lost amid the legal wranglings. (RJC)
