Preliminary forecast of likely US energy consumption/production balances for 1985 and 2000 by states

Conference · · 2nd Int. Energy Use Management Conf. Proc.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6473387
Preliminary projections of energy production and consumption for the years 1976, 1985, and 2000 made by the US Department of Commerce's Office of Ocean, Resource, and Scientific Policy Coordination show the US may face massive shortages and grave economic consequences should supplemental-supply projects helping to meet energy demand fail to arrive on schedule. Gas consumption is expected to decline through the rest of the century, with supplemental-supply projects helping to meet the demand. Eight LNG terminals and 13 coal-gasification plants should be on-stream by 2000. Energy production and consumption for the leading states are exhibited in bar graphs, as are water requirements for energy projects, the number of solar installations, and energy output from agricultural and municipal waste.
