This patent describes a fluid control valve apparatus for controlling fluid flow through a tubing string of a well. It comprises: a housing; a flow valve; spring biasing means, associated with the flow valve means, for biasing the flow valve means toward its the closed position; differential area piston means, associated with the flow valve means, for overcoming the spring biasing means and for moving the flow valve means to its the open position when a fluid pressure exterior of the housing at the flow port exceeds a predetermined value; and damping means.
