Ferromagnetic hysteresis and the effects of stress on magnetisation

Conference ·
OSTI ID:6468652
In considering the effects of stress on magnetization of ferromagnets the order of application of stress and field is important. The effects of stress can not be simply explained on the basis of the magnetostriction coefficient and the sign of the stress. A model of ferromagnetic hysteresis has been presented. The effects of stress on magnetization can be explained on the basis of the model which also indicates why the order of application of stress and field is significant.
