This report includes handling, combustion, and pollution-control systems needed for clean, efficient use of wood. The many equipment options are identified. It offers a review of time-proven technology, plus a look at new equipment and concepts in industrial wood-firing concepts, and some ideas on how to operate existing facilities better. The specific sections included were: resource availability, fuel properties, fuel preparation, conveying systems, dryers, storage, bins, chutes, feeders, pile burning, suspension firing, fluidized-bed combustion, pyrolysis, gasification, liquefaction, boilers, pollution control and ash handling.
