High-efficiency vapor-compression dehumidifier. Technical status report, May 1-May 31, 1981

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6467346
Progress is reported on the high-efficiency vapor-compression dehumidifier research. Market assessment studies have been completed that establish the need for a dehumidification system to support passive cooling. Two papers are included: Supplemental Cooling Requirements of Passively Cooled Buildings in Selected American Cities and Sensible and Latent Cooling Requirements of Conventional and Passively Cooled Residences in American Climates. Dehumidification experiments resulted in the development of a curve relating COP to air flow rate. The curve is presented. A proposal for engineering field testing of a sensible cooling recovery process dehumidifier was completed. (MCW)
