Cosmological constants: papers in modern cosmology

Book ·
OSTI ID:6466138
Seminal papers in cosmology are collected in this book. Included are Einstein's 1917 paper on cosmology and general relativity and the basic articles on the theoretical and observational foundations of the expanding universe. The book also contains papers on the discovery of cosmic background radiation and the work leading up to it, and on the processes that occurred during the first minutes of the universe. Other articles address the origin of the observed asymmetry between matter and antimatter, the production of magnetic monopoles, and the possibility that during the first 10 to the -35th seconds of its existence the universe experienced an especially rapid expansion.
