Precision triangular waveform generator model 79-11965
A signal generator is described that will produce a quasitriangular waveform that is reproducible over long periods of time. Each of the two sides of the triangle that represent amplitude are linear with respect to time, but the apexes are not points because of finite system response. The ascending and descending slopes are independently selectable. The high precision arises from the use of low-drift amplifiers and low-temperature-coefficient components. Amplitude-time jitter is less than +- 10 ..mu..s for periods of several hours. This report includes a circuit description, operating procedures and instructions, and a checkout and test procedure. Circuit diagrams, and photographs are included.
