A general criterion to test the importance of diffusion limitations in bidisperse porous catalysts was derived in terms of a parameter G, which is proportional to the reciprocal of the parameter defined by Oers and Dogu and whose magnitude is determined by the ratio of diffusion times in the micro and macropores. When G is equal to zero, which corresponds to negligible diffusion resistance in the micropores, the criterion reduces to the criterion suggested by Hudgins.
