Submicron-particle absorption spectroscopy by photothermal modulation of MIE scattered light

In situ particle specific absorption spectroscopy is performed using a CO/sub 2/ laser to photothermally modulate visible MIE scattered light. This scheme is appropriate for ambient sulfate particulate analysis.
