The tensor analyzing power T/sub 20/ at incident energies of 6.0 and 7.0 MeV using a /sup 208/Pb target and at 4.5 and 5.5 MeV using a /sup 136/Xe target have been measured. For both targets, measurements were obtained for two final states. In addition, they have measured the tensor analyzing power T/sub 21/ at an incident energy of 7.0 MeV for two final states with a /sup 209/Pb target. For each reaction, analyzing powers were calculated using the finite range treatment of the DWBA scattering amplitude. By comparing the measurements with the calculations, the series of measurements allows us to extract ten statistically independent measurements of eta. The individual measurements are consistent to within their statistical uncertainties. A weighted average of the individual measurements gives eta = 0.0256 +/- 0.0004. This result is compared with predictions obtained from a variety of theoretical models and with previous measurements.
