Preparation of /sup 75/Br by the /sup 78/Kr(p,. cap alpha. ) /sup 75/Br reaction

/sup 75/Br is a potentially useful isotope for positron emission tomography but its preparation in high purity has required the use of a relatively large cyclotron. It has been found that quantities of the order of 30 to 40 millcuries can be prepared by the /sup 78/Kr(p,..cap alpha..) reaction at energies between 12 and 15 MeV and the product contains less than 0.1% of /sup 76/Br contamination.
