Guide to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act for Health Canada project managers
This guide provides Health Canada Responsibility Centre managers, the managers responsible for the financial and engineering decisions regarding projects, with a clear step-by-step method for determining whether their projects fall under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and therefore must be assessed for potential environmental effects. The guide also furnishes instructions for conducting an environmental assessment that is consistent with requirements of the Act as well as efficient in terms of time and resources. Chapters of the guide cover such topics as the types of environmental assessment available, registration of projects in the Departmental Public Registry, environmental screening, and providing public access to documents in the Registry. Appendices include report forms.
