Nonlinear light scattering by static optical inhomogeneities

The authors present a theoretical analysis of plane wave propagation with nonlinear scattering by static optical inhomogeneities in transparent, absorbing, amplifying media: emulsions, suspensions, a liquid in porous bodies, semiconducting crystals with spatially inhomogeneous impurity distribution, and dispersive systems with close values of the linear refractive indices and substantially differing nonlinear refractive indices of the medium components.
