Studies of hydrogen held by solids--26. Proton resonance from alumina and molybdena-alumina catalysts

Journal Article · · J. Catal.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6458039
The study provided evidence that paramolybdate ions introduced into the alumina surface, during calcination form multilayer patches which cover about half of the alumina surface; and characterized a hydrogen species which adsorbs during reduction, can be removed by evacuation at reduction temperature (approx. 500/sup 0/C), readsorbs very slowly at reduction temperature, and may be involved in hydrodesulfurization under severe conditions but not in ethylene hydrogenation at room temperature.
