This patent describes an internal combustion engine electrical system comprising: an A.C. generator driven by an internal combustion engine; a rectifier circuit for rectifying A.C. output generated by the A.C. generator; a constant voltage power circuit which outputs a substantially constant D.C. voltage; an oscillator circuit driven by means of the output voltage of the constant voltage power circuit; an inverter circuit adapted to invert the D.C. output of the rectifier circuit into an A.C. output of a predetermined frequency using the output signal of the oscillator circuit as a communication command signal; a contactless ignition system for controlling the ignition operation of the internal combustion engine; an output voltage detecting circuit connected to be responsive to the output of the A.C. generator to generate a detecting signal corresponding to the output voltage of the A.C. generator; and an ignition control circuit.
