A creep-inhibiting device is described for use in an automotive vehicle equipped with an engine, a fluid coupling, a transmission mechanism coupled in series to the fluid coupling and having a frictionally engaging element. An operating fluid source supplies an operating fluid to the frictionally engaging element. The device includes: engine load sensor means control means of the improvement. The control means comprises: an input fluid line; a valve body; first and second end faces; a first pressure chamber; a second pressure chamber; a third fluid line; resilient means; a drain line; the input fluid line, the output fluid line, and the drain line; and the valve body.
